The Matterhorn Golf Club's golf course at Randa-Täsch is located on the valley floor between the two villages of Randa and Täsch at 1400 m. above sea-level and very close to the international resort of Zermatt. The golf course has been laid out on two separate pieces of land on either side of the Vispa River. The course is almost level and easy to walk around. A former area of marsh has been transformed into a lake which contains a unique island green. The Scottish golf course architect John Chilver-Stainer planned the 21-hectare golf course to blend in with the natural landscape.Golf Club Matterhorn, Postfach 321, 3920 Zermatt

The 18-hole golf course in the Upper Valais, was designed by the Scottish golf architect, John Chilver-Stainer. The entire golf course, in particular the greens, were modelled in the classic golf course style of Scotland. Every hole was planned according to the traditional philosophy of par or bogey-games. The course increases with excitement and the pars are well compensated. The long player will be challenged, the shorter player, however, will not be disadvantaged. The course has a continually climbing tension, and the parts are well balanced. This championship course has a length of 6109 m.
